Animasyros traveled for the first time to Paros for a creative collaboration with Routes in Marpissa!
The festival Routes in Marpissa, which this year completes 10 years of successful presence on the island of Paros and Animasyros International Animation Festival of Syros, have joined their Cycladic forces.
In the context of Animasyros #tour18_19, a unique educational animation workshop was organised for the students of Archilochos-Marpissa Elementary School of Paros on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14, April 2019. Vassilis Karamitsanis, president of Animasyros, introduced the students to the magical world of animation and to the action of Animasyros. The workshop was under the supervision of the Italian animator Thomas Kunstler who is based in Greece.
The workshop used pixilation and stop motion techniques to visualise a brief narrative for the traditional settlement and the people of Marpissa, inspired by the ten years of the festival Routes in Marpissa.
The workshop was organised with the aim of the Association of Parents and Guardians of Archilochos-Marpissa Elementary School.
This workshop was the first of a series of planned actions under the new collaboration between the two distinguished festivals that have managed to create bright cultural sites in the Cyclades. The two festivals renewed their appointment for the forthcoming August, at the 10th festival of Routes in Marpissa, where Animasyros will present projections of awarded short films.
