Yasemi Vocal Quartet

Yasemi is a vocal quartet consisting of musicians from the Greek folk music scene. All members are both singers and instrumentalists, and transfer their experience acquired with folk instruments to the voice. Combining traditional melodies with contemporary harmony, Yasemi’s performance celebrates the vocal traditions of Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean. Folk melodies arranged for a cappella ensemble and new pieces that follow the modes of Eastern Music make for a great canvas to show the multiple roles of voice in a rich musical tradition.
