Routes in Marpissa Festival

August 23, 24, 25, 2024

Elements Unbroken

“Homelands! Air, earth, water, fire!

Elements unbroken and the beginning and end of all creatures (…)”*

Kostis Palamas

The elements of nature, the source of life, eternal allies, and sometimes adversaries of humanity have always shaped our journey on earth. Fire, air, earth, and water, universal symbols and driving forces of civilization, inspire the 14th Routes in Marpissa festival.

Through this year’s festival-related research, practices, and traditions from the depths of centuries began to resurface like water from a well, spark like flames from lime kilns, get carried away by the meltemi winds in unexplored directions, until all the elements mingled and transformed like clay, providing the foundation for the creation of thematic stations and original experiential activities awaiting visitors in the alleys and squares of the village during the three-day event.

Inspired by the village, accompanied by the residents and aiming at action… come and walk with us in Marpissa!
