The Geometry of Cycladic Architecture

An experiential journey where geometry meets Cycladic architecture. Through tactile activities, children explore geometric solids and investigate their main characteristics, discovering how these forms connect to the simplicity and harmony of Cycladic structures. They then take on the role of young architects, creating their own three‑dimensional constructions inspired by the landscape around them.

The activity, organized in partnership with the Herakleidon Museum, has an interdisciplinary character, linking mathematics with architecture and culture, and aims to encourage active participation and creative engagement within the framework of the festival.

Presented by Anastasia Dernika and Fenia Kotsolakou, graduates of the Department of Mathematics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and postgraduate students in the Interdepartmental Program “Didactics and Methodology of Mathematics” at the same university.
